This book presents a state-of-the-art report on recent advances concerning Ganoderma and where the field is going. Although some older work is also cited, the main focus is on advances made over the past 20 years in the pharmacology and clinical applications of Ganoderma.

Ganoderma lucidum (Lingzhi) has been used as a traditional medicine in Asian countries to maintain health and to treat diseases for more than two thousand years. Recently, its value has been demonstrated in preventing and treating certain diseases, such as tumors, liver disorders, renal injury, hypercholesterolemia, obesity, cerebral ischemia reperfusion, bronchitis etc.

In addition, laboratory and clinical studies have confirmed that the chemical components of Ganoderma, such as Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharide peptides and triterpenes isolated from the fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum, produce diverse pharmacological effects.

Ganoderma and its components play an important part in antioxidant stress, radical-scavenging, immunomodulation, and intracellular signaling regulation, and accordingly warrant further study.

This book systematically reviews the latest advances in our understanding of pharmacology and clinical applications of Ganoderma, and offers researchers and graduate students valuable new insights into the pharmacology and clinical applications of Ganoderma and related products.

由北京大学基础医学院林志彬教授和杨宝学教授共同主编的《Ganoderma and Health》（灵芝与健康，上下册）一书已由Springer出版社於2019年11月正式出版发行。

该书上册（Biology, Chemistry and Industry，生物学、化学和产业）系统介绍了灵芝的分类学、生物学特性、人工栽培、化学成分和产业的研究进展；下册（Pharmacology and Clinical Application，药理学和临床应用）总结了灵芝及其提取物的药理学研究进展和临床应用。

灵芝作为一种传统中药，在我国已被用於养生保健和治疗疾病两千多年。近年来，灵芝人工培育技术促进了灵芝品种的优化、活性化合物的分离与鉴定，灵芝及其提取物相关产品的研发的发展。

实验室和临床研究也发现灵芝分离得到的灵芝多糖肽和三萜类化合物具有多种药理作用。灵芝在治疗肿瘤、肝脏疾病、肾损伤、高胆固醇血症、肥胖、脑缺血再灌注、支气管炎等疾病方面的价值已得到证实。灵芝及其组分在抗氧化应激、自由基清除、免疫调节和细胞内信号调节中发挥重要作用。

Dr. Zhibin Lin（林志彬） is a Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Peking University. He is also the honorary President of the Chinese Pharmacological Society, Senior Counsellor of the China Edible Fungi Association, and Councilor of the Southeast Asia Pacific Regional Federation of Pharmacologists.

Prof. Lin has been engaged in pharmacological research on Ganoderma for more than 40 years, and has also has been involved in the research, development and clinical applications of various Ganoderma products. He has published more than 100 research articles on the topic.

林志彬教授，1961年毕业於北京医学院医疗系；曾任北京大学基础医学院副院长兼基础医学研究所所长、药理学系主任，北京医科大学副校长；美国伊利诺伊大学访问学者；俄罗斯彼尔姆药学研究院名誉教授；香港大学访问教授；国际临床和基础药理学联合会（IUPHAR）执行委员；中国药理学会理事长等。现任中国中药协会灵芝专业委员会名誉主任委员。

长期从事抗炎症药、免疫调节药、抗肿瘤药的药理作用和作用机制研究，采用现代科技方法研究传统中药灵芝及其有效成分的免疫调节作用、抗肿瘤作用、保肝作用、抗糖尿病作用，取得重要成果。连续五年（2014-2018）入选爱思唯尔中国高被引用学者榜单。获灵芝授权专利5项。

Dr. Baoxue Yang（杨宝学）is Vice Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences, and a Professor and Director of the Department of Pharmacology, Peking University. He is an executive committee member of the Chinese Pharmacological Society and chairman of the Chinese Pharmacological Society’s Nephropharmacology Division.

He is also chairman of the Lucid Ganoderma Division, China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Prof. Yang’s research focuses on drug discovery, nephropharmacology and medicinal use of Ganoderma lucidum. He has published more than 160 articles in these fields and holds seven patents.

杨宝学教授，现任北京大学基础医学院副院长、药理学系主任、教授、博士生导师。兼任天然药物及仿生药物国家重点实验室研究员；中国药理学会常务理事、中国药理学会肾脏药理专业委员会主任委员、北京药理学会副理事长、中国中药协会灵芝专业委员会主任委员、《中国药理通讯》主编、《生理学研究》主编、《国际药理学研究》副主编等。

主要研究领域为肾脏药理学、灵芝及其提取物的药理学、新药发现与药效学评价。在研项目包括国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家自然科学基金重点国际合作项目、NSFC/RGC联合科研基金项目、科技部国际科技合作专项、北京自然科学基金等多项研究课题。已发表SCI论文127篇，连续五年（2014-2018）入选爱思唯尔中国高被引用学者榜单。获授权专利7项。
